Stories of Westhaven : Westhaven's past

It was around 2015 when I was talking with some Westhaven staff and realised that the history of the marina had not been documented to the best of our knowledge.

I had a think about how we could best do this, and we considered options such as a book, a mural collage and the like.

The history team at Auckland Library suggested an oral history. I commissioned a specialist in video production, Trevor Conn at Artefact Media, and we developed a list of around 10 old-timers to interview for an oral history that could be archived at Auckland Libraries.

We also pieced together this video, using historic footage. It really brings the marina's past to life.
